2005 was the first year Global Quest 4 Talent competed at the US Talent Quest Three singers represented New Zealand. Two made the semi final with Julie Ta'ale taking 3rd place in the Grand Final.Sarah McBride won the inaugural NZ-US Talent Quest to travel to Las Vegas all expenses paid.
Julie Ta'ale was sponsored by Little Rippers and Haylee Fisher by McDonalds to travel and enter the US Talent Quest.
Julie (our Samoan songstress) was a past member of the girl group Pacific Soul. She sang at the Pasifika Festival and after the Talent Quest was invited to Los Angeles to record a CD. In 2004 Julie won the 'Moneyoke' competition organised by Global Quest 4 Talent (we were known as Corporate Karaoke in those days). She won $7000 cash which she used to start her recording career. Julie who now goes under the name of Miss J has just released a music video which is being shown on Juice TV. The song is called 'Oh Baby'. Well Done Julie - you've come a long way since 2004!
Sarah writes and records her own songs and she recently appeared on the New Zealand version of 'Stars in Their Eyes' as Kylie Minogue.
Haylee Fisher was awarded a NZ On Air grant to record her own CD
