Hi, my name is David Perrett, Marriage Celebrant. I have lived in Auckland, New Zealand since 1963 after emigrating from the UK.As a Marriage Celebrant my main purpose is to solemnize marriages and I have been performing these now for 28 years. During this time couples have drawn on my wealth of knowledge and contacts to help make their special day an occasion to remember and treasure. I love meeting and helping people and enjoy interacting with the diverse population we have in New Zealand.
I have married hundreds of couples and have been part of a very important day in their lives. From the young to the not so young, from celebrities to the boy and girl next door, over the years I have helped people from all walks of life plan their big day. As one of Auckland's most experienced marriage celebrants, I offer a range of ways to design your marriage ceremony, with a different level of personalisation to suit your individual ideas and dreams.
Before confirmation of a wedding ceremony I do like to meet with the couple involved. Quite often the couple has already attended a wedding where I have performed the ceremony. It is helpful to find out what your ideas and dreams are for the big day and if possible meet at the venue to assist this process.
I can provide examples of ceremonies which can be built on if they fit your criteria for a ceremony. All ceremonies are non-religious but can be adapted to include a reading, either by myself or a special friend. I also have sample readings, which once again offer options for a ceremony that can be tailor made for every couple.
I have a style of my own but am more than happy performing anything from formal to romantic or a humorous theme. Check out the photos below, one in particular where the wedding was a country and western theme and I was asked to dress up as Dolly Parton!! If you have a special theme in mind for your wedding, let me know. We can be as serious or have as much fun as you like!
On the big day it is my role to ensure that the ceremony runs smoothly and to keep stress levels down so that it is a joyful and memorable occasion.
As part of my service I can also offer advice on those other important elements of the big day, for example recommending a photographer, hair and beauty, entertainment during the ceremony or for the evening's merriment with Global Quest 4 Talent/SouNZ Like.
